Support and Communication for Wallet Providers and Exchanges

I’m excited to announce a new step in enhancing how we collaborate and communicate with our partners in the ecosystem—specifically wallet providers and exchanges. We are transitioning to use the Daml Forum to create a scalable, robust, and collaborative environment to manage ongoing support, technical discussions, and announcements.

Introducing New Dedicated Forum Tags

To centralize all relevant discussions and information, we suggest using two dedicated tags on the Canton Network Forum:

  1. wallets-and-exchanges: This tag is designated for technical questions and support regarding integration. If you have a question, posting it here will ensure visibility by the right experts across the ecosystem.

  2. wallet-exchange-announce: We will use this tag for announcements targeted specifically at wallet providers and exchanges.

The forum offers the following advantages:

  • Persistent Knowledge Base: The forum provides a persistent, searchable history. Every question, answer, and technical resolution is captured permanently, building an invaluable, easily accessible knowledge base for everyone.

This collective expertise spans a wide range of disciplines, leading to faster and more comprehensive solutions.

  • Targeted Notifications: You can ensure you never miss a critical update by subscribing to posts with these new tags.

How to Subscribe to Email Notifications

To get email notifications for posts using these tags:

  1. Sign up on the Daml Forum using the email address where you’d like to receive alerts.

  2. Filter posts by the appropriate tag (e.g. wallets-and-exchanges or wallet-exchange-announce).

  3. Click the bell icon (notification control) at the top of the tag page.

  4. Change your notification level to ‘Watching’.

We encourage all wallet and exchange partners to make the forum their primary destination for Canton Network integration support moving forward. This move ensures we can provide the highest quality of support in a way that is sustainable and beneficial for the entire ecosystem.

Hey dave, but permit me where is the canton Network Forum, is it a different platform from here?

Hey @David_Olagookun, it depends what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for technical support for the Canton Network then you can certainly ask questions on this forum for support.

@David_Olagookun a lot of web property and branding transition happening at the moment. New Canton Foundation website just launched, for example.

This forum was originally for Daml, the smart contract language, then expanded into Canton as a blockchain tech, and now is certainly also used for Canton Network. It’s the closest there is to a Canton Network forum right now. I cannot make any promises yet, but my broad expectation is that this forum will be migrated, merged, or superceded with a Canton Network forum in the foreseeable.
