Interaction between Canton and underlying blockchains

  • Is there a link between Canton Participant nodes and nodes of the underlying blockchain?
  • Can Canton interact with smart-contract deployed on the underlying blockchain?

Not sure what you mean by link between Canton Participant nodes and nodes of the underlying blockchain. Take a look at Daml’s recommended architecture as it might help.

Basically the underlying blockchain is used for synchronization, messaging and topology
