DAML support for Hyperledger Iroha

Are there any plans for DAML to support Hyperleder Iroha?

Same answer (and question) as on https://discuss.daml.com/t/canton-support-for-hyperledger-iroha/1352/2: There are currently no plans. Why are you interestested in DAML on Iroha, in particular? Are there any properties of Iroha that you specifically need, or that you think make it particularly amenable to running DAML?

Iroha’s identity management, out of the box client libraries (including mobile), finance focus and especially its simplicity makes it a very compelling option. However, for smart contracts it uses what it calls, “commands”, but there are not many of them which are needed for some use cases, and as a result a lack of them is limiting. The only way around this is for a developer to spend time developing their own commands. Iroha’s approach to address this has been to integrate Iroha with Hyperledger Burrow so that it can utilize Ethereum smart contracts.

With the feature set and simplicity of Iroha coupled with the ability to design and ship applications faster with DAML it would be highly beneficial if Iroha could utilize DAML smart contacts. It would also be highly beneficial if Iroha can be integrated with other blockchains via Canton.
