I’m the product manager for the Canton Network and the Canton blockchain protocol. I joined Digital Asset in June 2022, but I’ve stayed mostly behind the scenes until the Canton Network was announced this week.
The Canton Network is an open blockchain that uses the Canton blockchain protocol to preserve privacy and sovereignty. It relies on new multi-domain features of the Canton protocol to allow Canton implementations to compose applications at a transaction-by-transaction, feature-by-feature level. This means it’s possible now to execute full two-phase transaction commits between one application and another, making delivery versus delivery (DvD) and delivery versus payment (DvP) workflows possible across different asset classes and organizations.
